HRMA Partners with Ewing Schools in Workforce Readiness Initiative
As the public schools are mandated by the State to strengthen their Workforce Readiness initiatives, HRMA has found a willing partnership in the Ewing School District. In April of this past chapter year, we presented a program on interviewing skills from the hiring manager’s perspective to the Senior Experience (internship program students). The feedback was highly positive, and the school personnel invited us back this year to present a similar program to their VoTech students, which will take place during the last week in October 2011. Three members of HRMA, a professor of HR at Rider University, and several college HR students will participate in the presentation.
Other ideas for future endeavors suggested by the School include one-on-one interview coaching, resume reviews, participation in their Spring Job Fair, developing a 30-second pitch, networking, and job search presentations to the community at large.
