Workforce Readiness

Workforce Readiness is one of seven Core Leadership Areas (CLA) that SHRM has designated critical to the organization meeting its goal to advance the HR profession.  Workforce Readiness is a broad area which engenders many different target groups such as partnerships with high schools  and colleges to prepare students for entry into the future workforce;  helping returning military personnel transition into the civilian labor force; partnerships with employers in areas such as leadership and talent development;  partnerships with social service organizations to help the homeless or abused get back to work; and assistance to the unemployed in developing stronger job search skills.  SHRM local and state chapters across the country are involved in many different Workforce Readiness initiatives.  For more information, contact Cheryl Blake-Morris.
