    Description:

When it comes to today’s candidates exploring your openings, it is becoming increasingly clear that the most successful firms are treating ALL of their candidates, including the 99% they don’t hire, better - if only out of recognition that their attitudes and behavior can impact referral and conversion rates, quality of hire and even, as your customers, profit.

In just its 4th year conducting Candidate Experience research, the non-profit TalentBoard worked with more than 175 firms to better, define, measure and understand how their candidate’s treatment impacted their business. During August of 2014 more than 100 of these firms invited their candidates to share their awareness and attitudes toward how they were treated. 95,000 responded. 150 firms believed their candidates would rate them favorably. The candidates of 62 firms did. Net Promoter Scores ranged from -20 to 70. And now, for the first time, we know what the ‘benefit’ of treating a candidate well is ..… and the cost of treating them badly.

Join this educational seminar to learn first hand from one of the founders of TalentBoard what these results mean for you and your organization.  Understand how and why to improve the candidate experience especially for those you don’t hire, and learn to identify which practices are merely annoying and which ones are critical to monitor and improve the recruiting function and even your company’s performance.

    Our speaker:

Gerry Crispin, SPHR is a life-long student of staffing. Recognized for his views and observations on employment strategy, hiring process and staffing technology for nearly two decades, he is sought out by many of the world's most competitive corporations.

In 1996, Gerry founded CareerXroads, a small international consulting practice, with his business partner, Mark Mehler. Simply stated they facilitate a dialogue between corporate staffing leaders through invitation-only, peer-to-peer meetings throughout the year. The aspiration of this peer network which today numbers more than 100 large corporations (The CareerXroads Colloquium) is to contribute to a growing community of professionals who are improving their business' performance through a sustainable staffing function…and sharing what they learn to raise all boats.

Gerry’s passion is to understand how firms design and build recruiting processes, the technologies to enhance them and the systems to manage them.  He is also pretty sure there is a better way to make a difference in satisfying the needs of all the stakeholders in the recruiting process and especially in balancing how we contribute to the lives of our candidates while improving our firm's performance.

In 2010, Gerry joined with other volunteers in the industry to form a non-profit, TalentBoard, to oversee the Candidate Experience Awards and share the ‘what’ and ‘why’ of how we treat the people interested in working for us. This growing movement to define, measure and honor the firms who are treating candidates as partners in the hiring process (www.thecandes.org) is now in its 4th year.

Data collected and analyzed from hundreds of participating companies who have obtained responses from hundreds of thousands of their candidates is fast becoming the standard for hiring in the 21st century.

More than an observer, Gerry wants to influence future staffing models to be driven by the evidence; to offer candidates experiences that empower them to make better decisions in parallel with corporate selection practices, and to embrace technology-based networking tools as a primary means to build 2-way candidate pipelines.
