Description:
Recent government-issued guidance on married same-sex couples will have far-reaching impacts on benefit distribution and financial savings for members of the LGBT community and the plan sponsors who provide them with benefits and financial planning services. For plan sponsors, these challenges are exacerbated by the fact that the law is still evolving: there is still ambiguity about what benefits are available at the federal level, inconsistency at the state level, gaps in assignable rights and benefits, and questions about transfer of tangible and financial assets.
This educational seminar will provide an update and focus on how changes to the law will impact employers. Many of the topics that will be discussed will have relevance to other benefits provided to diverse communities, and many of the examples shared by the subject matter expert during this presentation will be pertinent for those who provide benefits across the spectrum — including income tax filing, estate planning, and health benefits, among others.
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more in depth about the unique challenges faced by the LGBT Community, as well as best practices in diversity and financial wellness strategies from a successful employer, and gain valuable insights on how to support this constituency.
