DESCRIPTION:
HR executives will have the opportunity to play a critical role in the post pandemic workplace. Understanding how to influence virtually and the issues that arise in a hybrid workplace are key aspects HRs role going forward. This program will discuss how to effectively exert influence in a hybrid workplace where much of your influencing will be virtual. We will also discuss the psychology of virtual influencing and effective use of each of the different mediums of virtual communication The program will also focus on the HR issues that arise when part of your workforce is remote including how to address disadvantages remote workers may face in terms of impact and advancement.

OUR SPEAKER
LEE E. MILLER, is a professional speaker, executive coach and corporate trainer in the field of leadership, influencing, corporate culture, sales, negotiating and innovation. He is also an adjunct professor at Columbia University, USC and at Seton Hall University’s Stillman School of business, where he teaches graduate level courses in both in the MBA and Human Capital Management programs both in person and online. Among the course he teaches are leadership influencing and negotiating, as well as in managerial decision-making, design thinking for innovation, organizational culture and human resources management. Lee is a five-time recipient of the Stillman School’s Award for Teaching Excellence. Among the books he has authored are UP: Influence Power and The U Perspective- The Art of Getting What You Want, and, with his daughter Jessica Miller, A Woman’s Guide To Successful Negotiating, selected by Huffington Post as “One of the 16 Must Reads for Aspiring Women Leaders” and a featured book on the Early Show and Good Morning America. He also authored the chapter on social media in PR News, The Guide to Best Practices in Non-Profit Communications. He is also the co-author of Getting People to Believe in Something They Can’t Yet Imagine published in the Harvard Business Review Online.
Previously he was the Chief Human Resources Officer at TV Guide, USA Networks and Barney's New York, Inc., the Vice President of Labor at R.H. Macy & Co. Inc. and a partner at Shanley & Fisher, (now Drinker, Biddle) one of the largest law firms in New Jersey. Lee is the former Chair of the International Association of Corporate and Professional Recruiters, and Secretary to the Union County Motion Picture Advisory Board. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Washington State Bar Association Credit Union and on the Board of Directors of the American Repertory Ballet Company, as well as chair of the ARB’s personnel committee. He a member of the New Jersey Organization Development Network and serves as an advisor to, and an honorary director of, the Tianjin Society in Singapore.
