In the past decade, corporations have seen an unprecedented growth in the percentage of freelancers, temporaries, and contractors in their organizations.  Some estimate these contingent workers comprise 25% of today’s workforce, and that independent and/or alternative work arrangements will over-shadow regular employment by 2030.   Considering that Human Capital Management (HCM) systems are built for managing the employee to employer relationship, companies are turning to Vendor Management Systems (VMS) to manage the contingent worker relationship.

At this presentation, we’ll compare HCM to VMS to understand why both are needed by organizations to manage and analyze their blended workforce.  Attendees will also hear the Contingent Workforce findings from the Sierra-Cedar (Formerly CedarCrestone) Annual HR Systems Survey.
